this is when you should visit a workshop and not visiting yahoo answers as you will never know what damage your car might have till the engineer finds out about it.I have an 86 Honda Accord that started smoking today. It has oil and the fludis are fine.?
HI there,

Did you top up the engine oil when your car is not yet warm up?

Or did you overflow the engine oil

This might be a reason why you are facing smoke.......

Hoep it do help...

Cheers!!!
The is an older model and the rings could be worn or the valves could be leaking oil in the cylinders.Usually these things would cause it to smoke when you crank the car for the first time like when the engine is cold in the morning.

These thing shouldn't cause the oil light come on so it maybe the oil pump if its oil level isn't low
I would check into several things that might cause the engine to smoke...The valves could be sticking, the o-ring might need to be replaced..,
it sounds like the o-ring went out. have you checked the oil since?
It's possible you have a blown head gasket. This allows coolant to enter the combustion chamber %26amp; would appear as smoke out the muffler. If it is a head gasket repair it soon or it will ruin the block %26amp; you'll need a complete engine.

But if the oil light was on you may have run it out of oil. Or the oil pump may have failed, does it have an oil pressue gauge? Or just an idiot lite?

Does it smell like burnt oil? Is there excessive moisture coming out the exhaust pipe?
Sounds to me k=like the oil pump is going away. Perhaps a broken ring.
Get an oil change done %26amp; have the mechanic take a good look at everything. Might be something hidden or nothing at all.

I had an 82 Prelude that did this too. The problem wasn't anything specific, even after replacing the oil, fuel %26amp; water pumps, putting new O-rings on %26amp; replacing all the sparkplugs.

I started using a product called Stop Smoke. STP makes one %26amp; there are cheaper versions too. You pour it into the oil container on the engine %26amp; it helps stop the engine from producing excess smoke. Funny thing is, even smoking, mine would still pass smog checks. A mechanic suggested I use a stop smoke product %26amp; I said I was, just hadn't lately. He poured one in %26amp; didn't charge me for it, thankfully. The car had already passed the smog check too.
Could be broken rings.
