I have a lawnmower that uses oil and gas seperately. Today it ran for awhile then I heard a ';putt putt'; sound

and some smoke came out and it stopped. So, I checked the gas: full. I checked the oil: low. I added oil. It then ran well for a while then went putt putt with the plume of smoke and tried to keep itself going, but then stopped. I could restart it again, but it would stop shortly afterwards.

I checked for grass clumps, etc. in the blade and they were clean.

What could be wrong with it?I have a lawnmower that uses oil and gas seperately. Today it ran for awhile then I heard a ';putt putt'; sound
Sounds like the filter is dirty. Mine did the same thing. Clean the filter and see if it works.I have a lawnmower that uses oil and gas seperately. Today it ran for awhile then I heard a ';putt putt'; sound
engine getting hot and seizing up.....you can pay to have it fixed ( 200.00) or go to Sears and buy a new one....
When was the last time you changed the filter? It might be clogged.
