Light, sweet crude for April delivery rose 95 cents to settle at a record $105.47 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, after earlier spiking to a new trading record of $105.97.
106 dollars a barrel and Opec refuses to lower its prices and of course the oil companies are not going to lower them either. Throw in the elimination in tax breaks to big oil the Democrats are calling for and the price of gas may top $4.50 a gallon this summer. One more thing if the ';environmentalists'; would ';allow'; us to utilize our own resources we would not be in this mess to begin with. A sound argument can be made that the events in Iraq are a direct cause of environmentalism in the first place.
