No,that tax would of just been passed on to us as the consumer,oil and gas would of lost nothing.Making gasoline even higher and faster rise in price than it already is.Today republicans betrayed the citizens by proteceting oil companies make you angry?
1. A windfall tax on the oil companies would be passed on to the consumer in HIGHER gas prices.





2. Oil companies are PUBLIC corporations owned by American citizens. 40% of ownership is from private citizen investors; 40% is by mutual funds and 401K's (again private citizens). Windfall profit tax will only hurt those americans.





3. Oil company profits as a percentage of cost are no different than any other corporation... about 10%.





4. The dems once again pray on the ignorance of the populous who know about as much about economics as my 3 year old!
Well you could just invest in an oil company on account that most of them are publicly-traded. So when oil prices go up, your making money and not losing as much. Maybe the reps were trying to get us to do this. Democrats barely even know what investing is, on account that they don't know what they're doing.
I don't understand how taxing a oil company more is going to reduce gas prices. You think they would let them drill more in this country and build some more refineries that would reduce gas prices, but I guess the Democrats don't care about people. That is a disgrace
Yes taxing the oil companies will make them lower prices. Give me a break. It is wrong to limit the amount a company can profit. Their profit margins are not even close to what many companies make.
and the democratically led congress and house has been in charge for 2 years and oil prices have absolutely shot through the roof since they took over, i thought nancy pelosi had a plan for that.
But watch they will point the finder at the Dems because they have had a SLIM majority. They forget to mention that the Reps have prevented any change by their votes.
So what's new, since when do reps give a damn about an average person!
