Is Pres. Bush and Vice pres. Cheny, the sole reason for the oil prices today?

If one can believe what they read on the internet, consider the following: When President Bush went to visit the King in Saudia Arabia, the King told Bush, if you want more oil, buy it! Is it possible, the King and other middle East countries are intentionally trying to bring the United States down to it's knees by increasing the oil prices, which in turn would allow them (the middle East allies), to stock pile their money?

This might sound far out, but take a look around at what's happening here in the U.S. It won't be much longer until people won't be able to afford to drive to work to buy the necessities of life. What will society do in response to the problem? The future looks pretty bleak from where I see it. I was here in the depression, and what's ahead looks much, much worse. Is Pres. Bush and Vice pres. Cheny, the sole reason for the oil prices today?
They have nothing to do with oil prices, if they did, they would lower them which would increase the economy making them look better and increasing their very low approval ratings. Is Pres. Bush and Vice pres. Cheny, the sole reason for the oil prices today?
We still don't know enough about the Cheney energy policy that was devised with the help of the oil companies. It does appear however to be working out well for them.

Bush's request to the Saudis seemed a little half-hearted. The Saudis said that the problem is not supply but speculation in the markets. Who knows for sure.
No, but the entire right wing party (GOP) has been either ignoring the energy problem, lying about it, or chosing to wage war to secure the resource.

Oh, and Yes, they have profited from it enourmously.

A REAL leader would have been working with our nation to make us the world leaders in efficiency and renewable energy and mass transportation.

Instead, they misled the stupid into voting for ';God's Party'; while they sucked the nation' s coffiers dry.

And the poor fools still haven't caught on!
i am selling out to bigger competitor today, hope to get a co. pickup and gas card. work is scarce, gas too high, time for a change, i can't make it anymore being self employed. bush and cheny are big oil, they are making it easy to rape the little guy
No its more the fault of the far left nuts for not allowing drilling or nuke electric plants. Its a shame Red China is drilling of the coast of Florida BIA Cuba
In a word, no.

Saudi's have increased production 300k barrels, price still went up again.
CT's and no facts, typical liberal.
No. Why would you think so?
well, here this, i live in the middle east, and there is no money in here either, and the king of saudi arabia is not the only to blame for this, 1st of all it is the U.S.A that is trying to bring the whole damn world to it's knees, just take a look at the total death toll caused by american wars to FREE THE WORLD, 2nd just look at the american oil companies that are EXCLUSIVELY extracting oil in the gulf and see how much money are they making!!!! a final thought for you, these people in the arabian gulf you're talking about, are nothing but puppets, so just try to search for the ones pulling thier strings ; )

peace
they are directly responsible for taking out the 3rd largest exporter in the world (Iraq) thus putting upward pressure on prices

the other thing they have direct control over is the US budget and the huge deficit spending caused by the war and unprecedented tax cuts during war time have caused a devaluation of the Dollar by 50% compared to the Euro and Pound

this has made imported fuel another 50% higher for US consumers

add to that Speculators that have dropped the dollar as an investment and instead have bought into commoddities (oil, gas, copper, steel, gold) and you see thier prices go through the roof

oil analysts say that the ';true'; price of oil with todays supply and demand should be $55 to $65 a barrel (not $128)

but the weak dollar and speculators have driven it to double what its true value is
No, they are not. US has lots of oil reserves but Congress will not allow any drilling. If we could drill some and buy some we would have more stability. Congress will not license construction of new refineries, there has not been a new refinery built since 1972, you have to admit that technology has made alot of progress since then.

Congress also will not license atomic power plants. France, Germany, Spain, Holland, Italy, Brazil etc. produce almost all their electric power in nuclear power plants while we use coal and oil. Once we get away from politics and compromise among energy resources and production we'll be OK.
Actually what the Saudi King said was if you build more refineries that can handle oil we will produce more oil which will lower the price. The problem with the oil prices today is that we haven't built a new refinery in about thirty years. No one wants one in their back yard and also the EPA regulations make it very expensive to build one safely. So to answer your question no Bush and Cheney are not responsible for the current gas prices. It is the environmentalists, democrats, and the EPA working together that is hampering our supply of gasoline. We have been importing gas now for a number of years because we do not have enough capacity in our refineries and they are old.
Bush %26amp; Cheney make their millions on the oil, Saudia Arabia's King told Bush NO he would not put out more oil for the usa How foolish we are to ever think the Saudia's would care about the middle %26amp; lower class hard working people , when they care less about there own working class people or there women! Now there is to much blood in the oil and we need to find another source of energy, and fast! would love to live long enough to tell them Saudia's to drink and swim in there oil! or simply tell them to go to HELL! Oh and take bush %26amp; chney with them!
