has blew up on the same night as the fault obiously wasnt fixed.. i was wondering if we had a case to fight audi as the fault hasnt been fixed, and due to there error we are left with an Audi with a engine that has blew up?Our car has just been fixted with audi today and it was something to do with the oil pressure and the engine..
well it would seem plausable. being as the car went south right after they '''fixed''''it.Our car has just been fixted with audi today and it was something to do with the oil pressure and the engine..
They are only responsible if their handi work caused the engine to blow up. If their solution was wrong, it would have blew up anyway.
BUT if you can prove that their repair work was the cause (like installing a bad oil pump), then they are responsible.
Also, mechanics are only responsible up to the cost of the repair (the money they took from you), not the cost of WHOLE engine damage.

So now you know the importance of getting somebody good and responsible for your auto repair work.
Good Luck...
You should listen to lover not a fighter cause he sM@rt. He even done a clUtch. He sayed So CaUz HEe Berry Smart! Or you should just return to Audi? The work they preform comes with a warranty. Have you taken the car back to them? If you did, what did they say or do? What was the original fault %26amp; what did they do to fix it? What was the error that they made? Man I would love to bad mouth a mechanic that screwed up like some others did, but the truth is not enough info. has been posted in your question to answer you correctly. Maybe if you update your question some of us who DO fix cars proffesionaly can help you out with some worth while advise.
Are you a member of the AA or Rac? I'd be getting an independant report done on that car tomorrow - it sounds as though maybe the garage didn't replace the engine oil they drained.
If there was oil pressure problems before they fixed it and you drove the car like that damage may have been done at that time. Then you go to Audi and they fix the oil pressure problem but that does not warranty any damage done before they fixed it. Could be their fault, may not be. If it was done at the dealership they tend to be honest folks and own up to their mistakes - most shops do. The key is to not be rude and confrontational and try to work together to resolve the issue. you can always get a second opinion too.
As far as the resposibility of the dealer only to cover up to the costs of repairs - that is false. That would then mean if they did an oil change for $30 and forgot to put oil in the engine and it damaged the engine they just owe you $30 - I don't think so. They are responsible for any damages as a direct result of the work that they did. Sorry to break the heart of a previous poster.
You need to be more specific with your description of the fault.Several things could have been the cause, when you say blew up,what do you mean?
